Offsite in Görlitz/Zgorzelec: Collaborating in New Ways between Lost Places & Gatsby

Görlitz/Zgorzelec, July 2025 – five days, lots of activities, countless conversations, ideas, and inspiration: This year's offsite took us to Görlitz/Zgorzelec and was more than just a change of scenery. From June 30 to July 4, colleagues from all departments came together to work, learn from each other, and, above all, grow closer as a team at meddevo.

Working on future topics without silos, without hierarchies

We worked in interdisciplinary groups, deliberately avoiding traditional hierarchies. This cross-functional structure gave rise to exciting discussions and concrete work results on topics such as the expansion of our diversity and inclusion project and the development of internal guidelines for the safe use of artificial intelligence in software development. At the same time, we took the opportunity to warmly welcome new colleagues and involve them directly in the action.

Team building with depth and a touch of Gatsby

But team spirit doesn't just develop on a laptop. That's why looking beyond the horizon together was also part of the week: whether on a guided Lost Places tour, an exciting visit to the historic Görlitz town hall, or a swim in the lake - the focus was on togetherness.

One real highlight (and there were many): a visit to the immersive theater play “Gatsby.” In the midst of the action, in the style of the Golden Twenties, we fully immersed ourselves in the story and experienced it in a truly memorable way.

Culinary delights as a cultural factor

Those who work well should also eat well and that was definitely the case in Görlitz/Zgorzelec. Sushi, delicious burger creations, and authentic Polish cuisine provided the perfect setting for after-work exchanges.

Our time in Görlitz/Zgorzelec has shown that personal gatherings, as well as flexibility, trust, and new forms of collaboration, are of great importance. We are entering the second half of the year feeling stronger, inspired, and with fresh momentum!
